Colorado Yule Marble – The Liberty Collection

Dimensions: 16 x 10 x 9.6″

Weight: 36.4 lbs

‘Aquatic Anomaly’ takes her name from the incongruous nature of her finished form—born from a twisted marble block that defied convention and inspired a sculpture both functional and fantastical. She suggests, at once, a leviathan rising from the deep and a sturdy vessel charting the waters above her terrain. The 13th addition to The Collection Series’ Liberty Collection, she embodies pure creative freedom.

Convention yielded to fluidity of form and imagination in this piece. ‘Aquatic Anomaly’ may serve as a versatile bowl, a flamboyant statement sculpture, or both. Her changing profile reveals a new personality from nearly every angle, rewarding a full viewing “in the round.” Compact yet commanding, she fits easily into any setting—and, like all Curvilinear Marble Sculptures, she thrives in light. Whether sunlight or spotlight, illumination brings her translucent walls to life.

At 36.4 pounds, she’s substantial yet easily carried—best cradled close, as one might hold a child. Place her where the light shifts through the day and watch as her luminous surface radiates subtle moods and textures.

Carved from an unusually contorted section of The Liberty Slab—a 3-ton mother block that has birthed every Liberty Collection sculpture—this piece presented both challenge and inspiration. The absence of any flat or sawn surface invited an unconventional approach, ultimately resulting in a bowl unlike any other in The Collection Series.

Finally, don’t hesitate to let her serve you—adorn her with fruit, keepsakes, seashells, autumn leaves, or chocolates. Protected by an invisible Italian impregnating sealant, she cleans easily with a simple damp cloth, restoring her brilliant white sheen in seconds.
