Good Dogs is the first new sculpture of 2026 and a quiet surprise within The Liberty Collection. Carved from an unusually thin sliver of Colorado Yule Marble, the piece emerged through Martin Cooney’s Direct Method—allowing the stone to reveal its own form.
On one side, an old hunting dog rests alert and watchful; on the reverse, a younger dog appears, equally attentive. Carved from a single wedge of marble, the sculpture presents two distinct yet related figures—suggesting age and youth, memory and anticipation, or perhaps the same dog at different moments in life.
Intimate in scale and easily placed, Good Dogs invites interaction. It can be displayed from either direction, allowing the owner to choose which companion greets the room. Durable, luminous, and quietly expressive, it is a personal and approachable work that rewards close viewing from every angle.
