Carved as part of Martin Cooney’s Autumn of ’14 series, the piece features a sweeping, low-cut design that captures the movement and stillness of water all at once.
Its form reflects the artist’s fond memories of drifting in the pool’s gentle clockwise current—mirrored here in the marble’s smooth contours and calm presence. At its center, a subtle rectangular basin echoes the shape of the real pool, as well as the terrace that framed it, evoking a perfect moment suspended in stone.
